HOKURIKU RAIL ROAD.CO.,LTD has been certified as a Kanazawa SDGs tourism promotion business operator in a total of 5 indicators; Indicator 1 “Take care of the resources in the Earth”, Indicator 2 “Go beyond barriers and promote partnerships”, Indicator 3 “Respect the local community and nature”, Indicator 5 “Create a rewarding work environment”, Indicator 8 “Introduce the appeal of the region and the contribution of tourism for Kanazawa”.
Its particularly unique efforts that contribute to the promotion of sustainable tourism are introduced below.
When patrolling the railroad tracks, members of “HOKURIKU RAIL ROAD.CO.,LTD” pick up trash along the railroad tracks and contribute to the preservation of the scenery.
The Hokutetsu Train Festival is held at Tsurugi Station with the aim of having people of all ages, from children to adults, become familiar with buses and trains. In addition, “HOKURIKU RAIL ROAD.CO.,LTD” invites children from kindergartens and nursery schools to hold bus experience sessions at Hokuriku Railway branches.
Model courses designed by Hokuretsu Group employees have been provided to help highlight the charms of unique history, nature and culture of Kanazawa while riding public transportation.
